URGENT ACTION ALERT: Protest Prop 98 Withholding this Thursday
We need your voice at a public demonstration this Thursday, 6/18, from 11am-12noon outside Assemblyman David Alvarez’s office (276 Church Avenue, Suite D, Chula Vista).
While the legislature reached a tentative budget deal yesterday, negotiations with Newsom continue on major issues. Our window to protect PROP 98 is closing but we aren’t going without a fight! We are urging Assemblyman Alvarez (the Chair of the Ed Finance Commitee) to fully fund Prop 98 and exclude the new idea to fund private preschool programs out of that budget. A Prop 98 deferral would cost our students over $600 each.

ALERTA DE ACCIÓN URGENTE: Protesta contra la retención de fondos de la Propuesta 98 este jueves
Necesitamos tu apoyo en una manifestación pública este jueves, 18 de junio, de 11:00 a 12:00, frente a la oficina del diputado David Álvarez (276 Church Avenue, Suite D, Chula Vista).
Aunque la Asamblea llegó ayer a un acuerdo presupuestario provisional, continúan las negociaciones con Newsom sobre cuestiones clave. Nuestra oportunidad para proteger la Propuesta 98 se está agotando, ¡pero no nos rendiremos sin luchar! Instamos al diputado Álvarez (presidente de la Comisión de Financiación de la Educación) a que financie íntegramente la Propuesta 98 y excluya de ese presupuesto la nueva propuesta de financiar programas de educación preescolar privados. Un aplazamiento de la Propuesta 98 supondría un coste de más de 600 dólares por alumno.
